ABOUT THE ROLE

 

We’re looking for a Finance Analyst who will be responsible for performing day-to-day operations for the Customer Solutions team and specifically for the Shared Accounting Services team. This role supports cash management by maintaining customer accounts and analyzing cash flows, recording daily customer cash activities in the ledger, owning bank administration for the customer accounts, and ensuring customer accounts are reconciled and invoices have been collected in a timely manner. The position will also perform monthly / quarterly reporting and other day-to-day operations for managing customer accounts. The Finance Analyst interfaces with a variety of internal corporate teams and business units and reports to the Supervisor, Shared Accounting Services.

 

This position is based out of our Downtown Calgary Head Office, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.

 

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE

 

  • Apply and reconcile cash received from customers to customer invoices.
  • Reconcile customer account balances to Cognera/ Fusion.
  • Work with the Customer Solutions team to investigate and resolve reconciling differences.
  • Set up or adjust pre-authorized debits for customers
  • Respond to internal and external audit queries, and participate in tests of controls and walkthroughs.
  • Prepare and post journal vouchers to record customer transactions, ensuring accurate and complete recording in compliance with corporate accounting policies.
  • Support Shared Accounting Services projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide back-up for various Shared Accounting Services functions, as required.

 

ABOUT YOU

 

  • You will have 2 – 5+ years of experience in applying cash, performing account reconciliations, etc.
  • University degree / college diploma with a finance or accounting emphasis is required.
  • Knowledge of cash management, basic accounting and working with customer accounts.
  • Experience with SAP and/ or Cognera systems would be a definite asset. 
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently with minimal supervision, and multi-task in a fast pace and demanding environment.
  • A proven team player with the ability to interact and work with people with a variety of backgrounds and at different levels within the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
