 Overview:

Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Planning, the Financial Analyst, Consolidated Reporting & Analysis will be a part of the Corporate Planning and Portfolio Reporting & Analysis team, working cross-functionally with the divisional finance teams to analyze the business unit's results and support the corporation’s reporting and planning processes. The successful candidate must demonstrate analytical skills & computer proficiency with the ability to respond to a variety of ad hoc requests for information in addition to day-to-day accountabilities. This position will appeal to individuals who are comfortable with detailed analytic work, have strong communication skills and thrive in a dynamic team environment.


Accountabilities:

  • Aggregate the fuel line and divisional results and analyses
  • Provide performance analysis, variance analysis and support for key financial processes
  • Carry out month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting requirements
  • Support internal and external financial reporting deliverables and assist with the resolution of related audit requests
  • Aggregating and preparing materials to support board-level reporting of multiple legal entities
  • Support the compilation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, prior and current year actual results
  • Ensure the integrity and continuity of financial and statistical information included in analyses and deliverables
  • Provide suggestions to improve and advance the report formats and reporting and planning processes
  • Build relationships with other key areas of the company to obtain and analyze operational results
  • Assist other analysts and senior analysts in compiling financial statements and notes
  • Work on ad hoc projects and reports as requested

 

Qualifications & Skill:

  • Qualified or enrolled for qualification in a financial designation or equivalent (CPA, CFA, etc.) with 1-3 years of related experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, accounting, economics,  or other relevant education
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, SAP-BW; and Power BI
  • Ability to summarize data and extract a concise message for presentation and discussion purposes, understanding the qualitative, quantitative and business frameworks
  • Strong analytical, interactive communication and time management abilities to lead and deliver toward deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and you can work cohesively in a dynamic team environment
  • Strong oral communication skills with the ability to interact with various levels within the organization
  • Ability to build and maintain robust reporting and forecasting models in excel
  • Relevant utility or trading industry experience is an asset
  • Interest in driving continuous improvements and efficiencies
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive deliverables within key deadlines
