ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Human Resources Summer Student, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of Human Resources while supporting day-to-day operations and special projects. This role offers a well-rounded introduction to the HR function, providing exposure to Talent Acquisition, HR Connect (HR administration), Health & Well‑Being, Compensation & Payroll, and ongoing HR initiatives.
You will work closely with members of the HR team, building practical skills, learning how HR supports the employee lifecycle, and contributing to meaningful projects that support the business. This opportunity is ideal for a 2nd or 3rd year student currently studying Human Resources who is eager to learn, take initiative, and explore a career in HR.
This position is based out of our Downtown Calgary Head Office, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Support Talent Acquisition activities, including job postings, interview coordination, candidate communications, and recruitment-related projects
- Assist the HR Connect (administration) team with employee inquiries, documentation, data updates, and general HR operational support
- Gain exposure to Compensation and Payroll processes by assisting with data validation, reporting, and administrative tasks
- Support Health & Well‑Being initiatives and HR programs through coordination, communication, and project assistance
- Participate in HR projects such as process improvements, research, data analysis, and the creation of tools or reference materials
- Collaborate with HR team members across different functions and attend meetings to learn how HR partners with the business
- Develop a strong understanding of HR policies, systems, and best practices while building professional skills in a supportive environment
ABOUT YOU
- Currently enrolled in a Human Resources, Business Administration, ideallycompleting your 2nd or 3rd year of study
- Interested in exploring a career in Human Resources and gaining exposure across multiple HR functions
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and learning new systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excited to learn, grow, and contribute while gaining real‑world HR experience
