We are currently seeking a full-time Manager of Business Services to join our Shared Services team. As the Manager, Business Services you are accountable for providing support and services to the entire organization in the areas of the field and corporate administrative support including policies and administrative programs, learning management system, payroll and employee data, organizational change management, and facilities management (including the design, construction and move into the new head office planned for Q2 2023).


This is a temporary 8-month position located at our Calgary Head Office, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule (days in the office & at home). The expected start date for the successful candidate is early January 2023. 




  • Developing, implementing, and managing the 1–2-year business services plan and delivering the agreed results. This includes adapting departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.

  • Managing and developing a high-performance team of Supervisors and Professionals, delegating appropriate deliverables (e.g. of up to 3 – 12 months) and holding them accountable for delivery. This includes building bench strength and coaching the team of supervisors to keep developing as leaders. 

  • Ensuring services are provided safely and in compliance with company policies, controls, procedures, standards, regulatory and legal requirements, and collective agreements

  • Developing, tracking, and controlling business services resourcing requirements and annual operating costs

  • Building organizational alignment and collaboration with business stakeholders working closely with Vice Presidents and Managers across the company

  • Promoting an enterprise approach where supporting multiples business units where you can prioritize resources to efficiently meet the business objectives

  • Accountable for key business administration processes, think critically about the business, and support continuous improvement

  • Developing and implementing a process automation roadmap that advances the automation of transactional work and improves productivity

  • Overseeing the project team on the design, construction, and move into the new head office planned for Q2 2023

  • Creating, implementing, communicating, and maintaining corporate programs and policies of administrative nature, including but not limited to travel management, fleet vehicle management, cell phone ownership, etc. 

  • Build and maintain business administration services vendor relationships to ensure that provided services are meeting expectations

  • Build a high-performing environment that aligns with our company culture and values

  • Identify key performance measures and metrics and evaluate insights to optimize future needs




  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration or similar educational background 

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a leadership role

  • Project Management experience preferred

  • Relationship management skills, establishing and maintaining cross-functional collaborative relationships, building trusting relationships

  • Demonstrated application of conflict management

  • Demonstrated knowledge of change management theory and practices

  • Leadership skills: tactfully address conflicts within the team and with key stakeholders, set expectations with key stakeholders and team members, provide role clarity in ambiguous situations, focus on productivity and collaboration and ensuring the overall development pipeline in the team

  • Financial knowledge to develop, implement, and manage the financial budget for functional area

  • Solid communication skills to appeal to broad audiences - managerial, direct reports, cross-functional relationships

  • Demonstrated capability to identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems

  • Interpersonal skills: able to guide, influence, and persuade others either internally in other areas or externally with customers or agencies

  • Solid decision-making skills to manage outcomes, including the timeliness of decisions
