ABOUT THE ROLE

 

We’re excited to welcome a dynamic and driven Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to our team! With 5+ years of senior progressive HR advisory experience, you’ll confidently navigate complex stakeholder environments, influence decisions, and shape impactful people strategies.

 

As a strategic partner, you’ll help design and deliver HR initiatives that support our broader business plan. You’ll provide thoughtful, data‑informed guidance to your client groups—supporting workforce planning, performance and development, and proactive employee relations to drive strong business outcomes. This role may support our corporate and/or generation business lines depending on candidate experience and fit.

This position is based out of our Downtown Calgary Head Office, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.

 

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE

 

  • Providing best‑in‑class HR advice and strategic business partnership to client groups in support of business plans and long‑term objectives
  • Working closely with senior leaders to define business priorities and optimize resource allocation to address operational challenges and opportunities
  • Leading and supporting change management initiatives and employee engagement strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness
  • Developing and implementing HR strategies, frameworks, processes, and tools that strengthen organizational capability and performance
  • Partnering with business leaders to forecast talent needs and plan the end‑to‑end talent pipeline in alignment with functional and enterprise strategy
  • Overseeing the planning, delivery, and governance of HR programs to ensure timely, cost‑effective, and high‑quality outcomes
  • Providing guidance on employee performance, discipline, and complex employee relations matters
  • Identifying, mitigating, and advising on people‑related risks—including those related to reputation, legislative compliance, and employee relation
  •  Ensuring business practices align with company policies, procedures, and regulatory/legal requirements—and enabling leaders to understand and uphold these standards
  • Building organizational alignment, clarity, and accountability across roles, structures, and deliverables
  • Applying deep HR and business knowledge to provide forward‑thinking, data‑informed recommendations and insights
  • Collaborating with the Talent Acquisition team to support hiring strategy and partnering with HR Connect on administrative and operational HR support
  • Leading or supporting HR workstreams related to mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational restructures—including due diligence, change planning, and workforce transitions

 

ABOUT YOU

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Social Sciences (or equivalent experience)
  • Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation or working towards is an asset 
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a senior business partner in human resource management with broad based generalist experience
  • Experience with collective agreement interpretation, employee relations issues, human rights, and performance management and labour practices
  • Experience with workforce planning and implementing strategies to engage and retain employees
  • Ability to engage, manage difficult conversations and influence outcomes while maintaining strong trusting relationships
  • Demonstrated capability to understand the business and create the link between HR strategy and business strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to identify potential and existing problems and create effective solutions to address them following appropriate analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong MS word and excel skills
