ABOUT THE ROLE

 

We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join our dynamic Corporate Tax team at our Calgary Head Office. Reporting to the Corporate Tax Manager, the Sr. Tax Analyst is responsible for the preparation of tax returns and income tax provisions, managing audits by various taxation authorities, performing research and providing tax advice for business transactions. This position is open to both Canadian and US based candidates. Potential remote work options available. 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Prepare US and Canadian tax provisions and analysis for external financial statement purpose

  • Coordinate Corporate and Partnership return filings with outside tax advisors

  • Assist in the preparation of the Canadian income tax returns and other related filings

  • Support the preparation of the Canadian tax filings and compliance requirements for the company’s foreign investments

  • Assist in US and Canadian income tax audits

  • Assist in the review and analysis of budgeting and long-range forecasting processes for current and deferred taxes

  • Contribute to tax planning and reorganization initiatives 

  • Support and complete integration projects for growth initiatives

  • Research issues and provide tax advice for business transactions and M&A activities

  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Business/Accounting degree or equivalent

  • US CPA designation and completion of or in progress of the CICA in-depth tax course

  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of corporate tax experience

  • Strong team player with the ability and willingness to assume a hands-on role

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment while working independently and meeting various deadlines
