ABOUT THE ROLE
TransAlta operates and maintains 6 Power Stations in Western Australia. With a 20-year history in the State, we provide safe, clean and reliable power to large mining and industrial customers and have invested significantly in stable, long-term contracts.
We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Supervisor to join Regional Control Centre. Reporting to the Plant Manager, Regional Control Centre the Supervisor will ensure the business needs are well communicated to the Regional Control Centre Operators and met on a consistent basis. You will ensure the remote operation of our plant and equipment is conducted efficiently, reliably, and safely, through applicable standards, procedures, and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and within the contractual obligations of our customers.
ABOUT THE ROLE

Provide ongoing structured training, familiarisation and mentoring opportunities to the RCC operators, ensure competencies are maintained and operators are compliant with mandatory training

Ensure all shifts are appropriately and effectively staffed in a fair and equitable manner while ensuring minor rotations between crews/teams

Accountable for operational compliance with state and federal agencies

Investigation and analysis into events with internal and external stakeholders

Drive operational efficiencies, performance and results as One TransAlta

Maintain company reputation, customer and stakeholder relationships

Support the execution of year-two of our Culture Transformation strategy focusing on Learning, Purpose and Results

Plant Manager backfill during periods of absence
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
-
3+ years’ experience in a leadership role or power generation facility
-
High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for Advanced Boiler and Turbine Operation
-
A technical background in mechanical, electrical or control systems. A tertiary qualification in one of these disciplines would be an advantage

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and procedures

Ability to determine and apply contractual obligations within a Power Purchase Agreement

Excellent analytical skills to make sound professional judgments and recommendations

Self-motivated; confident, energetic, and flexible

Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with impeccable attention to detail

Proficient in core office programs (i.e.: MS office) and capable of learning key position-specific applications

Ability to navigate, adapt and become proficient in business applications.
