ABOUT THE ROLE
TransAlta operates and maintains 6 Power Stations in Western Australia. With a 20-year history in the State, we provide safe, clean, and reliable power to large mining and industrial customers and have invested significantly in stable, long-term contracts.
We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Supervisor to join our South Goldfields team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, Regional Control Centre the Supervisor will ensure the business needs are well communicated to the Regional Control Centre Operators and met on a consistent basis. You will ensure the remote operation of our plant and equipment is conducted efficiently, reliably, and safely, through applicable standards, procedures, and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and within the contractual obligations of our customers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
-
Supervise and manage maintenance staff and contractors to meet the goals and objectives

Provide governance oversight of the Asset Management plans and Work Management process for the Southern Goldfields assets

Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and commercial commitments

Support the planning and execution of maintenance, outage and project activities
-
Execute and optimize work utilizing TransAlta’s Work management process and procedures

Oversite and input into Computerised Maintenance Management systems (CMMS) such as SAP
-
Ensure the Power Station is operated and maintained safely, ensure t a safe work environment is maintained by leading by example

Accountable for effectively managing and meeting plant availability targets

Ensure staff are adequately trained, qualified and competent in their roles and compliant with mandatory training

Build teams and cross-functional collaboration with peers, internal and external stakeholders

Manage all contractors while onsite

Upholding TransAlta values, thereby maintaining and enhancing reputation and stakeholder relations

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
-
5+ years’ experience in a leadership role in a Power Generation site
-
A technical background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control systems. A tertiary qualification in one of these disciplines would be an advantage.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and procedures

Strong analytical skills to make sound professional judgments and recommendations

Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience developing plant and HSE risk assessments

Exposure to financial budget development and management

Will be required to obtain qualification as “Gas Fitter Supervised” and High-Risk Workers license for Working at Height and Confined Spaces

Proficient in core office programs (i.e.: MS office) and capable of learning key position-specific applications

Ability to navigate, adapt and become proficient in business applications.
