TransAlta operates and maintains 6 Gas Turbine Power Stations in Western Australia. With a 20-year history in the State, we provide a reliable power supply to large industrial customers and have invested significantly in stable, long-term contracts.

 

As part of our corporate business improvement initiative, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced procurement and sourcing leader to join us. Reporting to the Group Manager, Finance and Procurement, you will be responsible for the management of our procurement systems and contracts.  You will lead the analysis, sourcing and strategic contracting activities for the Australian business.  

 

The duties of this role include:

  • Building effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Driving transformation through our procurement processes and practice
  • Collecting and analysing spend data to identify opportunities and implemeting the opportunity
  • Achievement of cost savings targets through different methodologies such as supplier consolidation or rationalisation; leverage of spend and total cost of ownership
  • Reviewing of current contract status
  • Developing KPI’s to enable performance management and governance for the procurement process

 

To be considered for this role you will need demonstrate:

  • Degree qualification in a business or finance-related discipline
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Significant commercial procurement experience
  • Delivery of Results to meet performance targets
  • Strong SAP experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to build excellent internal and external relationships
  • Knowledge and the ability to implement business improvement methodologies.
