 ABOUT THE ROLE

 

TransAlta Australia, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Canadian-based TransAlta Corporation, currently operates and maintains 6 power stations in Western Australia. With a 25-year history in the State, we provide safe, clean, and reliable power to large mining and industrial customers. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and driven Shared Services Admin Team primarily based in our Perth Office.

 

Reporting to the Supervisor, Shared Services Admin the Perth Administrator has an overall focus on the safe and efficient administrative tasks for our Generation business. The role is accountable to provide support through the shared services model across General, Travel, Training and Finance categories. The role is primarily based in Perth, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend coverage for urgent requests. Monthly travel to our South Hedland Power Station plus occasional travel to all operating sites is also a requirement of this position.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO  

 

Provide administrative support to the Australian generation business across all sites utilizing the AUDSS Model. Accountable to action shared service tickets within the requested priority schedule.

  1. General
    • Freight bookings
    • Support supply order co-ordination (PPE & Team events)
    • Support HR with onboarding and offboarding employees
    • Support the business in culture, community investment and wellness initiatives
    • Document formatting
    • Maintaining the Perth office
    • Ad hoc requests as required
  2. Finance
    • Support finance in the goods receipting process
    • Assist with credit card reconciliations
    • Support Finance with employee expense reimbursements
  3. Travel
    • Book flights and accommodation
    • Ad hoc on-site outage support on request
    • Support roster updates
  4. Training
    • Book operational training requirements
    • Support site training mobilisation
    • Update training compliance records

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

 

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following must-have qualifications and experience:

 

  • Office Administration certification preferred or 3 to 5 years administrative experience
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and SAP PM/MM modules.
  • Valid driver’s license (manual)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage a broad range of daily activities and deadlines.
  • Expectations to work with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and independence.
  • Efficiency, sound judgment, self-composure and a positive attitude are essential attributes for success.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS 

 

  • Valid Police Clearance (within the last six months)
  • Undertake pre-employment medical 
  • Right to work in Australia
