Summary:

  • Responsible for the repair of all electrical and controls equipment within the plant.
  • Performs regular preventative and predictive maintenance checks on plant equipment.
  • Trouble shoot all plant systems and submit job requests on those systems that require maintenance work.
  • Maintain the units within all applicable guidelines and regulations, including emissions, efficiency, heat rate, capacity and safety.
  • Maintains a complete set of maintenance records and schedules on plant equipment using computerized maintenance management system.
  • Takes corrective action for all situations in which the health or safety of the staff or plant equipment is at risk.
  • Strictly adheres to policies and procedures for the safe isolation of equipment and systems while performing maintenance work.
  • Follows all accepted equipment maintenance procedures, and at the same time is continually seeking methods for improving the reliability of the equipment and/or systems.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the plant systems, and updates training material as changes to the plant systems are made.
  • Works a flexible work schedule which reflects the unique nature of the maintenance requirements of a combined cycle cogeneration facility.
  • Is available for call-out on a scheduled basis to respond to emergency maintenance needs which effect plant availability or output.
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties.
  • Work with or supervise contractors on site.
  • Train and coach other members of the staff in maintenance techniques as required.
  • Work with Maintenance Support Staff the maintenance activities within the plant.
  • Work with the Maintenance Support Staff to ensure adequate supply of spare parts are on hand.
  • Other duties as may be identified by the company

 

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Trade Certificate / Instrumentation Technologist Certificate.  Dual trade considered and asset.
  • Experience with work management and scheduling
  • Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance techniques
  • Experience with business IT Systems, SAP experience and asset.
  • Quality Management and Systems including Health and Safety Management
  • A high level of communication skills
  • Problem analysis and problem solving expertises
  • Understanding of business and financial management fundamentals
