ABOUT THE ROLE

TransAlta’s Alberta Generation Services team is currently seeking to fill eight (8) Labourer positions.  

Reporting to the Supervisor, Alberta Generation Services, the Labourer is responsible for supporting operational activities within the Alberta Generation Services team. This includes assisting with site maintenance, equipment handling, and ensuring safe and efficient execution of tasks in a dynamic work environment.

This is a seasonal, safety sensitive position based at our Highvale/SunHills building, located just south of Wabamun Lake, approximately 65 kilometers west of Edmonton, Alberta. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment testing.

This in an IBEW Local 254 position covered by the terms of the collective agreement.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Perform general labourer duties such as site clean‑up and material handling
• Carry out vegetation control, including trimming, clearing, and maintaining safe conditions
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with tasks related to daily operations
• Provide basic maintenance and repairs for rental properties
• Perform mowing, trimming, and general groundskeeping as needed
• Complete weed‑control and spraying activities following proper procedures
• Assume other duties as required based on operational needs

ABOUT YOU

• Grade 12 completion or equivalent required
• No experience required; training provided. Candidates with relevant education or experience are also encouraged to apply
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety in all aspects of work
