TransAlta has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and passionate Wind Technician to join our Wind Operations team at our Soderglen Wind facility, located just 20km southwest of Fort Macleod, Alberta.

As a Wind Technician, you are primarily responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the Soderglen wind asset through the application of operating and maintenance standards, procedures, and processes that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You will also help develop and implement operations and maintenance strategies. Along with being accountable for ensuring the portfolio adheres to TransAlta’s operating model.

This is a full-time, salaried, safety-sensitive position based out of our Soderglen site. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment testing.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Ensure optimal performance through daily work scheduling, planning, and implementation of maintenance, service, and repair of wind turbine equipment as part of a team of wind technicians and contractors capable of producing the agreed deliverables
Support the daily to three-month operations and maintenance plan in alignment with the Supervisor’s business plan by driving operational performance, achievement of business results, and continuous improvement
Support the Supervisor and regional Manager as part of a high-performance team of employees and contractors to achieve the expected outcomes of the plants
Identifying and mitigating risks that could negatively impact the agreed outcomes or business results, and identifying and realizing opportunities that could positively impact the agreed outcomes or business results
Operational compliance to EHS, NERC, OHS, etc., plant availability, and cost standards through adherence to TransAlta operating procedures, policies, and applicable regulations
Drive for results in the areas of safety, compliance, plant availability, and cost by ensuring all routine and preventative maintenance is performed accurately, on time, and of high quality and documented correctly

ABOUT YOU

This role requires proven expertise in S/4HANA Finance modules, post-upgrade optimization experience, and the ability to coordinate complex projects with business stakeholders and outsourced vendor teams while maximizing the value of our newly upgraded system.

This position is based out of our Downtown Calgary Head Office, with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule.

Strategic Leadership:

Lead post-upgrade optimization and continuous improvement for S/4HANA Finance modules (FI/CO, PS, TRM, Cash, OpenText VIM) in our freshly upgraded environment

Reporting directly to the Gas Warehouse Manager, the Senior Warehouse Person will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the afternoon requirements in the day-to-day transactional operations of the warehouses. This includes issuing, receiving and shipping materials, physical inventory counts; processing of returned materials and managing Kitting and Staging.

This role will appeal to someone who takes pride in attention to detail, is proactive in nature, initiates projects to cleanup backlog and/or improve processes, practices, housekeeping and safety.

This is a safety-sensitive position based out of our Keephills Thermal Plant, located 70 kilometres west of Edmonton, Alberta.

This is a UUWA position covered by the terms of the collective agreement.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Ensuring alignment to all SCM /SOX processes with day-to-day management of the Warehouse activities
Coordination of resources and ensuring timely materials or equipment deliveries to designated staging areas.
Coordination of logistics with Procurement, Plant Management and Corporate Customs and Logistics Specialist - Coordination of transportation when materials are required to be moved on or off-site, or sent out for repair.
Leading the drive to improve inventory integrity – Ensuring the Cycle Count Process is completed on a daily basis, as well as associated Gap analysis and any inventory reconciliation.
A contact for emergencies within the plant, be aware of any emergent deliveries or requirements working with plant management
Responsible to attend or delegate as necessary, required meetings relative to planning, scheduling, Work Management (Kitting & Staging, Outages)
Lead the repairable process. Ability to create or delegate the creation of all applicable documentation including Requisitions for Procurement, daily loading and off-loading
Take a lead role in staff and safety (daily) meetings, communicate and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate material requirement to support Production schedules.
Issuing of parts to the Sundance Plant within required time frames
Ship and receive materials in inventory
Ensure accurate inventory levels and availability, following approved inventory Processes and Procedures.
Conducts daily inventory cycle counts precisely to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
Manage the reservations process to supply and deliver required materials to appropriate locations in a timely fashion through SAP Identification of materials and Materials Management
Lead and ensure daily housekeeping activities are completed in all warehouse buildings and exterior storage areas of accountability. Housekeeping standards are expected to be maintained at the highest level, ensuring a high degree of organization and compliance with safety standards
Take a leading role in initiating and implementing new processes and procedures(i.e. Work Management)
Stay current in Supply Chain Management industry Best Practices
Lead special projects as directed by the warehouse supervisor

ABOUT YOU

Minimum Grade 12 education
Specialized academic training or equivalent is preferred (e.g. PMAC, Journeyman Warehouse Certification)

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a strategic sourcing role focused on developing commercial strategies, analyzing spend and demand, and identifying opportunities to improve value, reduce risk, and strengthen supplier relationships. The role will lead complex sourcing initiatives, including the development and negotiation of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and other long-term agreements with OEMs and key suppliers, while ensuring appropriate commercial and contractual protections are in place. It will also support strategic sourcing, commercial analysis, and contract development across a broad range of complex goods and services.

You will partner closely with internal stakeholders, Legal, Engineering, Operations, and key suppliers to understand business requirements, develop sourcing and contracting strategies, negotiate commercial terms, and establish agreements that balance value, flexibility, and risk.

A key part of the role is understanding contractual terms and conditions, recognizing where TransAlta’s standard terms are appropriate, where alternative or step-down provisions may be required, and when issues should be escalated to Legal.

The ideal candidate brings strong end-to-end strategic sourcing and contracting experience, commercial judgment, and the ability to translate spend, supplier, and business data into practical sourcing strategies.

This position is based out of our Downtown Calgary Head Office.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Develop and negotiate MSAs and other commercial agreements with OEMs, service providers, and strategic suppliers.
Work with business stakeholders to understand current and future requirements and translate those requirements into sourcing and contracting strategies.
Review commercial terms and conditions, identify contractual and commercial risks, and understand where standard, alternative, or step-down clauses may be appropriate based on the scope and risk profile.
Partner with Legal on higher-risk contractual matters while independently progressing commercial provisions within Supply Chain’s scope.
Develop contracting approaches that appropriately address pricing, warranties, liability, indemnities, insurance, performance obligations, change management, and other key commercial considerations.
Lead strategic sourcing initiatives from opportunity identification to commercial evaluations, benchmarking, total cost of ownership analysis, and supplier comparisons to support business decisions.
Lead supplier negotiations and develop negotiation strategies that improve commercial outcomes while protecting TransAlta’s operational and contractual interests.
Support supplier performance and relationship management for key strategic suppliers and OEMs, including governance, KPIs, commercial reviews, and continuous improvement.

ABOUT YOU

Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; SCMP or equivalent designation is an asset.
10-12 years of progressive strategic sourcing or contracting experience, including direct responsibility for complex sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations.
Strong experience developing, negotiating, and administering MSAs and other commercial agreements.
Strong working knowledge of commercial terms and conditions and an understanding of how contractual provisions allocate commercial and operational risk.

ABOUT THE ROLE

TransAlta is seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our Centralia Plant. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, building relationships, and helping teams stay organized and productive.

As a key member of the site team, you will provide administrative, coordination, and logistical support to plant leadership and employees. You will help ensure office operations run smoothly, support employee engagement activities, coordinate vendor visits, and maintain accurate records and documentation.

This is a full-time, salaried position based out of our Centralia Plant in Centralia, WA.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Provide administrative support to plant leadership and site personnel.
Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments.
Coordinate logistics for internal meetings, training sessions, and site events.
Support employee engagement initiatives and company programs, including assisting with community and charitable campaigns (such as United Way initiatives), distributing forms, tracking responses, and coordinating event logistics.
Welcome and coordinate site visitors, vendors, and contractors, ensuring site requirements and logistics are communicated effectively.
Assist with travel arrangements, catering, room bookings, and meeting preparations.
Prepare, format, proofread, and distribute correspondence, reports, presentations, and other business documents.
Maintain electronic and physical filing systems and records.
Coordinate administrative and financial support activities, including data entry, recordkeeping, invoice processing, purchase requisitions, and periodic banking deposits.
Order and maintain office supplies and coordinate office service needs.
Work collaboratively with teams across the business to provide timely administrative support and address day-to-day operational requirements.

ABOUT YOU

Post-secondary diploma in Administration is strongly preferred; however, consideration may be given to candidates with proven experience and demonstrated administrative capabilities.
3+ years of administrative, office coordination, or related experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
Strong data entry, filing, document management, and organizational skills.
Experience working with SAP is considered an asset.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professionalism.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with a broader team.
Experience supporting employees in an industrial, operations, manufacturing, or plant environment is considered an asset.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is USD$46,200 – USD$64,000 at the time of this posting. Individual pay is determined by job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. The top end of the range is reserved for individuals with exceptional, directly relevant expertise and a demonstrated history of strong performance within TransAlta. This range reflects base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits.

TransAlta operates and maintains 6 Power Stations in Western Australia. With a nearly 30-year history in the Western Australia, we provide safe, clean and reliable power to large mining and industrial customers and have invested significantly in stable, long-term contracts.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations & Maintenance Technician (OMT) to join our team in South Hedland! This position reports to the Supervisor, South Hedland Power Station (SHPS) with day-to-day functional interaction and communication with the Regional Plant Manager and the Regional Control Centre Operators.

The OMTs will have an overall focus on the safe and efficient Operations and Maintenance of TransAlta’s operating assets at South Hedland Power Station. The position is primarily day shift with occasional night shift duties with an 8/6 FIFO from Perth. Occasional travel to all operating sites is also a requirement of this position.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Compliance with all TransAlta Safety Policies, Standards and Procedures
Carrying out maintenance and planning activities in line with the Work Management Process
Completing maintenance activities in a timely, competent and cost-effective manner
Troubleshoot problems with plant equipment for the purpose of supply restoration
Participate in Incident Investigations proving expert opinion in areas of expertise
Provide detailed reports during routine maintenance tasks and unplanned maintenance events
Training of new staff members in the maintenance department
Supervision of contract support staff ensuring safe work standards are maintained
Daily collaboration with Regional Control System Operators on plant performance and daily required maintenance schedule
Other duties as required and commensurate with role and qualifications

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following must-have qualifications and experience:

Mechanical trade qualification
A Valid C class Australian Drivers licence (manual transmission)
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work safely both independently and in a team environment
Intermediate computer skills (email, word, spreadsheet) are required
Must be able to work in hot & cold environments, at heights and within confined spaces
Working knowledge of and the ability to interpret mechanical, electrical and P&ID drawings, and specifications
Understanding of power generation, transmission and distribution

NICE TO HAVES

The following qualifications and/or experience are desirable, but not essential:

Experience in Aeroderivative or Heavy-Duty Gas Turbines will be highly regarded
Experience working with Steam, Boiler and Water Treatment will be considered highly
Experience in Control Systems

Reporting to the Supervisor, North Goldfields, the High Voltage Technician has an overall focus on the safe and efficient Operations and Maintenance of TransAlta’s generation, transmission and distribution assets in the northern Goldfields region of Western Australia. TransAlta values the safe delivery of clean, reliable power. The base location for this position will either be at TransAlta’s Leinster or Mt Keith operating facilities, is primarily day shift with occasional night shift duties, and is an 8/6 Fly in Fly out (FIFO) position from Perth. Occasional travel to all operating sites is also a requirement of this position. For the best candidate, relocation to Perth will be considered.
