ABOUT THE ROLE
 
The Asset Information Systems Analyst/Engineer will act as the key liaison between IT and Asset Management, driving the development, enhancement and sustainment of tools within the Integrated Asset Information Ecosystem. This role ensures accurate asset data and insights for effective decision-making in Generation-Operations. We're looking for a dynamic problem-solver with a passion for asset management, data and innovation! You’ll bring a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, plus 8+ years of experience in asset management. If you thrive on cross-functional collaboration and can turn ideas into action, while driving impactful projects, we want you on our team!
 
This position is based at our head office in Downtown Calgary, with the flexibility of a Hybrid work schedule.
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO
 
  • Represent Asset Management in dashboard development projects, working closely with IT’s Data & Analytics and other internal stakeholders or users to ensure alignment with business needs
  • Develop and articulate business cases, including problem identification, opportunity and value proposition statements for new or existing analytics initiatives or operational tools
  • Conduct user discovery interviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure the successful delivery of analytics solutions or areas of improvement of existing analytical tools
  • Lead the enhancement of various analytical tools, addressing audit findings to ensure it meets current and future needs. Update training documentation and conduct sessions to ensure efficient tool use and awareness
  • Work closely with performance, reliability engineering and other key end-user teams to ensure the tools function optimally and align with engineering or operational requirements
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in asset analytics processes
  • Contribute to developing standards and processes for these tools and the overall management of our asset information
 
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Product Management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in asset management, with a focus on data analytics and product development (energy or power sectors preferred)
  • Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and dashboard platforms like Power BI or Tableau
  • Strong experience in business case development and project management
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with IT, engineering, and operations teams
  • Familiar with asset management principles, performance analytics, and audit compliance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience conducting workshops and training sessions
  • Skilled in continuous improvement, problem-solving, and implementing process enhancements
  • Certifications in data analytics or project management (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus
